This is a doorway into the subway. I was trying to capture the sense of all the different surfaces of architectural elements I was seeing. They were all square hard surfaces, yet they also had a flare for decorative detail in places you would least expect. Even this simple arch was constructed with the same grandness the buildings around it were.
